Airtech won this design and build scheme, comprising decommission of redundant plant complete with supply, installation and commissioning of Mitsubishi Electric VRF Air Conditioning complete with Heat Recovery Ventilation.

Airtech carried out HEVACOMP calculations on which to base new equipment selections and allowed for reconfiguration of existing systems complete with installation of additional equipment proposed to suit new layouts.

Air Conditioning

Conference Rooms and the Hospitality Area were heated / cooled by Mitsubishi Electric DX heat pump split systems.  The in-room units within the Conference Rooms were cassette type and within the Hospitality Area, high level wall mounted type.

Ventilation

Conference Rooms Ventilation

The existing Mansfield Pollard Air Handling Unit was modified and reused. A new 2 Stage Heat Pump Coil was installed complete with Mitsubishi DX condensers and associated control panel.

Supply/ Extract air diffusers where selected and installed to achieve NR35 within the space.

Hospitality Area Ventilation

A Mitsubishi Heat Recovery Ventilation (HRV) system was installed to serve the Hospitality Area complete with controls.

Toilet Area Ventilation

An Elta SEM150-1EC Multiflow In-Line Extract Fan was installed externally, to the side of the Toilet area at high level to provide extraction from the Male, Female and Disabled WC areas.

Galvanised steel ductwork was run and connected to ceiling mounted extract grilles. Makeup air was provided via ‘Door Transfer Grilles’ fitted into each toilet and lobby door. The system was commissioned / balanced.

Building Energy Management System (BEMS)

The existing Trend BEMS System was modified to incorporate individual room temperature  control via a new Mitsubishi AE200 Central Controller c/w BACnet interface, CO2 sensors and occupancy sensors providing an extremely energy efficient solution.
